Appointments

You can make an appointment by visiting our Consulting Room.

Our appointment system is designed to make it as easy for you to see the right person at the right time for your needs.  Appointments for all our clinical team are available:

  • On the day – for urgent matters which need seeing quickly but are not life threatening (for the latter please dial 999)
  • 3, 7 and 14 days in advance – for less urgent matters
  • 2 to 6 weeks in advance for routine follow up.

To make an appointment please book:

  • Online via your NHS App (or similar)
  • Online via direct access into our Clinical System (SystmOne Online)

If you do not have access to these and are struggling to set them up, please contact the surgery and we can support you in this.

  • Phone 01453 764471 – please note urgent appointments are available throughout the day so you do not need to rush to call at 0800.

There may be some circumstances where the GP would need to see you in person i.e. if you needed a physical examination, but in most cases you can choose if you want to ‘see’ us via the phone or in the surgery face to face.

GP appointments are 10 minutes long. If you have more than one problem the clinician, you are seeing may ask you to return if they can’t deal with everything within 10 minutes.

Nurse and other non-GP appointments will vary in length depending on what you are coming to see us for.

Our surgery provides appointments during our opening hours which are 0800 to 2000 Monday and Tuesday, 0800 to 1830 Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday – with some Friday evenings running until 2000. We also have some Saturday morning clinics.

As a patient of ours you do have access to a GP on a Sunday. These appointments are based in Gloucester and can be accessed via calling NHS111 – simply dial 111 and, if a GP is appropriate for you, they will book you in.

Our later evening (Monday to Friday) and Saturday mornings are run in conjunction with the other surgeries in our Primary Care Network and are part of our Enhanced Access delivery. The other surgeries in our Network are:

  • Beeches Green
  • Frithwood
  • Minchinhampton
  • Painswick

Enhanced Access appointments are available at all these surgery sites.

These are bookable online and, should there be availability, our reception team may offer you one of these appointments.

We will make every effort to provide you with an appointment with the appropriate clinician at the time you want it. There could be times when this is not possible, in these events we will offer you an alternative which we hope you will find acceptable.

Nurse Appointments

Nurse appointment times are varied to suit the procedure involved. The receptionist will ask you what your appointment is for so that she can allocate enough time. If you prefer not to discuss with the Receptionist she will book a routine 10 minute appointment.

Visiting your Pharmacy

Please remember that some routine health issues can be dealt with by your local pharmacist. Visit the NHS Website to find out more about what a pharmacist can do for you.
